Masumeen Cup Minneapolis Cancellation Announcement

Dear Participants and Supporters,
Salaam Alaykum.

It is with regret that we must announce the cancellation of this year’s Masumeen Cup tournament, which was scheduled to take place on 6/21-6/23. Despite our best efforts and enthusiasm, we have not received the necessary number of registrations to proceed with the event.

We understand that there are numerous factors that may have contributed to the lack of registrations, including the scheduling of competing regional tournaments and other unforeseen circumstances. Despite our optimism and dedication to making this tournament a success, we find ourselves unable to move forward under the current circumstances.

As organizers, we deeply apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this cancellation may cause. We want to express our sincere gratitude to those who did register and show their support. Your enthusiasm and commitment to the tournament were truly appreciated.

Refunds will be issued to all participants who have already registered for the tournament. We aim to process these refunds as swiftly as possible, and we appreciate your patience in this matter. Once again, we apologize for the cancellation of this year’s Masumeen Cup and any inconvenience it may cause. We remain committed to providing a platform for our community’s tennis athletes and enthusiasts to come together in the future, and we hope to see you at next year’s Masumeen Cup.

Format

Men’s Format:

• The men’s tournament will feature a round-robin + knockout doubles bracket 
• Each player can choose their own partner to play with for the entire tournament by adding their partner’s name on the registration form
• Players who do not have a partner can be assigned one upon request
• The tournament will feature a beginner tier (3.0), intermediate tier (3.5), advanced tier (4.0), and expert tier (4.5+)
• Note: If there are not enough sign ups for the expert tier, we will consolidate those players in Men’s Advanced (4.0).

Ladies Format:

• The ladies’ tournament will feature a round-robin + knockout doubles bracket 
• Each player can choose their own partner to play with for the entire tournament by adding their partner’s name on the registration form
• Players who do not have a partner can be assigned one upon request
• All participants will be in the same tier

Kids Format

• The kids’ tournament will feature a kid-friendly doubles tournament
• The kids’ tournament will be for kids ages 8-14
• The kids will play with green dot balls
• To participate, we request that kids know how to score

Singles

• Depending on registration numbers, the organizing team will try to include a separate singles bracket for both men and ladies. If you are interested in participating in singles, please indicate that on the registration form in the Division Selection section
• Singles will feature a round-robin + knockout singles bracket
• Singles will comprise 1 division for men and 1 division for ladies, there will be no skill based tiers in the singles bracket
